SVP & Regional Security Director, International SOS
Julian joined International SOS Americas region in January 2021, responsible for professionally leading a diverse team of professional men and women from a variety of nations and backgrounds. He joined the company in December of 2011 as Regional Security Director, based in Dubai, geographically responsible for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), overseeing a team of 70 professional men and women from 34 nations located in 10 countries.
As the Regional Security Director Julian is responsible for the provision of the full suite of security services, supported clients by providing security intelligence and assistance, advice, training and consulting. With support from his team of security risk management specialists from a wide variety of professional backgrounds ranging from military, police, intelligence, NGO, journalism and academia, Julian and his respective teams have supported clients during many major security, political & natural disaster escalations, leading to the safe relocation of many hundreds of individuals across hundreds of organisations.
Julian possesses more than 18 years of private sector experience in risk management, crisis and business resilience; the design, development and implementation of risk management programs in Global Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining International SOS, Julian held a variety of senior positions in Financial Services, Telecommunications and Protective Security including roles in Australia, Hong Kong and Pakistan. Throughout his varied career he has gained considerable experience in leading and advising teams responding to business disruptions and/or crises. Prior to commencing his private sector career Julian spent 13 years in the Australian Army after graduating from the Royal Military College, Duntroon.
Julian holds a Master of Science (Business & Technology) from the University of New South Wales along with multiple diplomas, certificates, and courses in management, security, risk management, training and assessment systems, logistics and HSE. In 2016 he completed a leadership and business course at Harvard Business School.
