Allison Taylor Walker attended Northwestern University, completed a Master of Public Health degree in Infectious Disease Epidemiology at Emory University, and a PhD in Global Disease Epidemiology and Control at Johns Hopkins University.   She joined the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 2005 and has worked on five continents for global health programs at CDC. 

Her work includes serving as CDC's subject matter expert for polio eradication in the Horn of Africa, conducting research in the field of global multidrug resistant tuberculosis, studying the transmission of and response to global waterborne diseases, serving as a subject matter expert in CDC’s Zika Response, and serving in a leadership role in CDC’s COVID-19 Response. She leads the Epidemiology and Surveillance Team in CDC’s Travelers’ Health Branch with responsibility for multiple research and surveillance priorities.
